B*Dazzled Dancers Teams
Placement Tryouts
June 3rd through 5th 2026!
What is the Difference Between Stars Team and Competition Team?
At B*Dazzled, we understand that every dancer has different goals, interests, and availability. That's why we
offer both Stars Teams and Competition Teams, giving dancers the opportunity to perform at a level that best
fits their passion and commitment.
⭐ Stars Team
Stars Team was created for dancers who love to perform and want additional opportunities beyond regular
classes, without the added pressure and commitment of competitive dance.
Stars Team members are required to:
Take a minimum of two classes per week
Perform at local fairs, festivals, community events, and special appearances throughout the season
Participate in team performances and studio events
Stars dancers are also invited to many of our exciting travel opportunities, including performances at
Disneyland, New York City, and other special events when available.
🏆 Competition Team
Competition Team is designed for dancers who are seeking a more intensive training experience and are
committed to taking their dance education to the next level.
Competition Team dancers demonstrate the same passion for performance as our Stars Team members, while
also maintaining a higher level of technical training and commitment.
Competition Team members are required to:
Take additional weekly classes and rehearsals
Follow a stricter attendance policy
Attend team workshops and training opportunities
Compete at a minimum of three regional competitions each season throughout the Bay Area
In addition, dancers ages 7 and older attend a weekend-long dance convention where they take master
classes from professional choreographers and industry professionals, providing valuable training,
inspiration, and growth opportunities.
Both programs offer incredible experiences, lasting friendships, and the chance to be part of the B*Dazzled
family.
Whether your dancer loves performing in the community or is ready to challenge themselves through
competitive dance, we have a place for them to shine!
How Are Teams Selected?
At B*Dazzled, team placement is based on much more than technical ability alone. We strive to create teams that are talented, hardworking, supportive, and positive. When determining placements, we take the following four areas into consideration:
1. Class Attendance & Teacher Recommendations
Consistent attendance is extremely important. We look for dancers who come to class prepared, demonstrate a strong work ethic, listen attentively, and apply corrections quickly. Teacher recommendations help us identify dancers who consistently show dedication and a positive attitude throughout the season.
2. Recital Performance Footage
We review recital performances to evaluate each dancer's stage presence and performance quality. We look for dancers who perform with full-body energy, genuine enthusiasm, strong facial expressions, and confidence. Great performers connect with their audience through both their technique and their personality.
3. Class & Team Etiquette
Being part of a team means being a supportive teammate. We look for dancers who are respectful, coachable, and able to receive feedback positively. Our teams spend a significant amount of time together both inside and outside the studio, so maintaining a positive, encouraging environment is essential. Dancers who struggle with teamwork, attitude, or accepting corrections may need additional time before being ready for a Competition Team placement.
4. In-Studio Tryout
During tryouts, dancers will learn across-the-floor progressions and a center combination on the first day. They will then perform what they have learned in small groups. We are looking for dancers who demonstrate strong technical ability, confidence, performance quality, and a willingness to learn and grow. Effort, attitude, and coachability are just as important as natural ability.
New to B*Dazzled?
For dancers who are new to B*Dazzled, team placement will be based primarily on what they demonstrate during the in-studio tryout, as we will not have previous attendance records, teacher evaluations, or recital footage to review.
Please remember that team placements are designed to help every dancer succeed, grow, and have a positive experience. Our goal is always to place dancers where they will be challenged, supported, and set up for long-term success.
