How old does my child have to be to start class at B*Dazzled?

We recommend dancers be 3 years old but sometimes they are ready at 2 1/2. If you can answer yes to all of the questions below, your child is likely ready for dance class.

-Parents are not allowed to stay during class as it is a distraction. Can your child be away from you for an hour?

-We change our activity in Creative Dance about every 10-15 minutes to help dancers stay focused, can your childfollow instruction 10 minutes at a time? 

Can parents ever stay to observe class?

Young children get easily distracted so we ask that all parents exit the studio during dance class. We will post videos often on our Band Page (you will receive a link a few weeks after enrollment). If your child has separation anxiety we will work with you to make it a smooth transition. We want your dancer to be comfortable and have a great experience.

Is there a dress code?

Yes.   Please refer to the Policies page.

Can I take a trial class?

Yes, we offer a trial class for $20 in all recreational classes with availability. Please contact the director to set up your trial class.

How much does it cost?

Currently registration is $150 and monthly tuition starts at $70 per month. Your monthly tuition depends on how many hours of instruction your dancer signs up for. Tuition can be paid by cash, check or credit card. There is a $10 late fee for and tuition paid after the 1st of the month, we encourage all families to set up automatic payments through checking or credit card accounts to avoid this. Costume deposits are around $90 per class, most classes do not end up with a balance due. Dancers are required to follow dress code, for your convenience we sell everything you need for class however you are welcome to purchase elsewhere as long as it is meets dress code.

Do you give family discounts?

Each session discount rate varies. For our main season families combine hours to receive the family discount. Example: If you have 2 children dancing once a week for an hour each you will pay the 2hr rate. 

How much does the costume cost?

Costume deposits are $90 each. We try our best to keep the cost down for costumes. For our teen dancers and competition classes the cost can range from $85-$105. 

How many students are in each class?

While class sizes vary with age and level, we try to keep classes at 14 dancers or less. 

Does my child have to attend all performances?

No, recreational dancers do not have to attend each show. Kindly please let us know in advance though if your child will not be participating in a show.

Competition team dancers are required to perform at each show.

What happens if my dancer misses a class?

Please report all absences to the studio by calling (510)278-9035 or emailing BDazzledSL@gmail.com. Missed classes cannot be made up unless there is availability in a similar class. Since each class is unique we cannot guarantee an opening. Please check with the director. Thank you for your understanding.

How can my child join the competition teams?

Auditions for competition teams are held in May. If your dancer is new to B*Dazzled and you have missed auditions, please email us so we can evaluate them and see if they would benefit from technique class to be prepared for our next tryout. Most dancers need at least 3 years of technical classes to join a competition team.
